This drawing is of a Matryoshka set that we own. Solvei and I bought this set at an outdoor market in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1993. The artist who painted these figures is O. Borodina (О. Бородина 1993).
There are 10 figures in the set. We really like the unique style and delicate features of each figure. The title of the set is called “Little Winter” (Зимушка). For the drawing I set up three of the figures in a diorama and made a reference photo.
